An Indy legend lends McLaren's boy a helping hand
Fernando Alonso kicked off his Indy 500 preparations this week with a test run at the Texas Motor Speedway. Two years ago, for his maiden run at Indianapolis, Alonso was lent a helping hand by IndyCar legend Johnny Rutherford, who won twice at the Brickyard with McLaren, in 1974 and '76. This year, the Spaniard can once again count on the Texan's advice and invaluable insight. "He’s always taking care of us in terms of safety, that’s first, and trying to give me some advice on the bumps through (Turns) 3 and 4 and getting too close to the wall at the exit of T2, because it seems like you are quite far away but eventually you find yourself very close when the banking...
