Retirement beckons for Button

Jenson Button admits that he may have no option but to quit Formula One if he isn't offered a new contract by McLaren. Earlier, McLaren Racing Director Eric Boullier admitted that the uncertainty over which drivers will be contracted for the next season and beyond is "uncomfortable for the drivers", but confirmed that a driver strategy for "three years and maybe five years" is on the proverbial drawing board. With Button's team-mate Kevin Magnussen only in his first season with the team, and a reported approach for the re-signing Fernando Alonso seemingly on the cards, Button is the likely driver to miss out on a new deal.
