Mexico City GP: Ferrari's Leclerc dominates opening practice

Charles Leclerc set a commanding pace during the opening practice session for the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, topping the leaderboard with a best effort of 1m18.128s. The Ferrari driver finished comfortably clear of second-placed Kimi Antonelli, leading the field by over six tenths of a second. The Italian was joined in the top three by his Mercedes stablemate Frederik Vesti, who recorded a 1m18.861s while filling in for George Russell. Vesti was one of 10 rookie drivers taking part in FP1.
