Rinus VeeKay on crash: "Before I knew it I was in the wall"

Rinus van Kalmthout, also known as Rinus VeeKay, will start his second season in the IndyCar Series this week. He will have to do so with a broken finger, an injury he suffered during the first test day before the Indy 500. Van Kalmthout already indicated that he is experiencing little discomfort from his broken finger. In conversation with the Dutch branch of Motorsport.com he tells that the heavy crash was caused by a combination of a gust of wind and some inexperience. "The gust came late in the corner and suddenly I had so much pressure on the front wheels that the rear wheels couldn't keep up. Before I knew it I was in the wall", says Van Kalmthout.
