Maya Heug becomes Ferrari academy's first female driver

16-year old Maya Weug has become the first female to join Ferrari's academy after winning FIA programme Girls on Track. The initiative was introduced by the FIA in partnership with Ferrari in 2018 with the aim of supporting talented female drivers from the ages of 12 to 16. Weug, along with Doriane Pin, Antonella Bassani and Julia Ayoub, made it to the final stage of the programme, where they underwent a series of tests, both on and off track. After prevailing, she will now join the Ferrari academy and drive in Formula 4 next season. 'I will never forget this day.
