Scepticism remains through much of the Formula 1 paddock that overtaking will become easier in 2019. The main tweak to the rules for this year - wider front wings - is designed to make it easier for a following car to chase and pass rivals. Changes to aerodynamic regulations were sought after a largely processional season-opening 2018 Australian Grand Prix. Reaction has been largely adverse, with Red bull especially critical, claiming the changes have cost €15million without making a significant impact.
