Paul Ricard FP3: Rain stops play, lack of wets prevents running

Valtteri Bottas set the fastest time in a severely curtailed final practice session for the French Grand Prix at Circuit Paul Ricard fast became water-logged, drivers opting not to go out on the wet track to save the rain tyres they are likely to need in qualifying and possibly even the race. Only 15 drivers posted timed laps, many of them not even flying laps and after a long break of no action it was the McLaren of Fernando Alonso that ventured out into the wet with others following suit. Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas was quickest of those who managed a dry run of sorts with a 1:33.666, followed by Renault's Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc in the Sauber in third. Report in...
