Weathering a tyre storm

On this day three years ago, the 2013 British Grand Prix saw a number of drivers, including pole sitter and early race leader Lewis Hamilton, suffer spectacular tyre punctures. The ensuing backlash led Pirelli to modify its products for the German Grand Prix, though F1’s official tyre supplier mainly laid the blame at the door of the teams.
