Toro Rosso confirms Ferrari switch for 2016

Red Bull/Getty Images Toro Rosso has confirmed that it will use 2015-specification power units in its STR11 next year, ending its relationship with Renault. Toro Rosso used Ferrari engines until Formula 1 switched to 1.6 litre V6 power units prior to the start of 2014, at which point it aligned itself with sister team Red Bull in utilising Renault power. With Renault confirming its take over of Lotus, and Red Bull announcing it will run Tag Heuer-branded Renault power units, Toro Rosso has been able to formally confirm its move to Ferrari.
