Kvyat realistic over Toro Rosso chances
Daniil Kvyat is staying realistic over his chances of landing a Toro Rosso seat next season, having recently been named as a candidate by team boss Franz Tost. The Russian, 19, was mentioned alongside fellow Red Bull Junior Team members Carlos Sainz, Jr. and António Félix da Costa following Daniel Ricciardo's promotion, with all three men gaining Formula 1 mileage at the Silverstone Young Driver Test. Although an announcement is yet to be made, GP3 title contender Kvyat admits "there are many factors" out of his hands, with Félix da Costa – who is currently contesting the Formula Renault 3.5 series – the clear favourite to partner Jean-Éric Vergne.
