P2: Massa leads the way

Felipe Massa continued his renaissance in form in Practice Two ahead of the Chinese GP as Ferrari and Lotus responded to Mercedes early-weekend pace in Shanghai.In an afternoon characterised by developing concerns over the likely shelf life of the weekend's soft compound tyres, Massa set the benchmark in the small window where the 'option' rubber was at its best with a best time of 1:35.340 mid-way through the session. After a quiet start to the weekend on the medium rubber, Kimi Raikkonen burst into life when he too switched to the soft rubber and ended up little over a tenth adrift of his former team-mate, giving Lotus encouragement after an off-colour weekend in Malaysia.
