FP1: Russell tops opening Baku practice, Antonelli suffers reliability issues
George Russell set the pace in the opening practice session for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, with the Mercedes driver finishing ahead of Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc in a disrupted FP1 at the Baku City Circuit. Russell posted a 1:45.387 on the soft tyre to finish 0.400 seconds clear of Verstappen, while Leclerc ended the session just 0.004s further behind the Red Bull driver in third. Lewis Hamilton completed the top four for Ferrari, with championship leader Kimi Antonelli classified fifth despite having his session cut short by a hydraulic problem.
