Did Verstappen's unusual move cost Russell Italian GP pole?
Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff believes George Russell was denied a strong chance at pole position for the Italian Grand Prix after Max Verstappen compromised the Mercedes driver's final qualifying lap at Monza. Russell had entered Saturday's qualifying session as the clear favourite for pole. Mercedes had shown formidable straight-line speed throughout the weekend, with Russell topping both Friday's FP2 and Saturday's final practice session. However, the Silver Arrows' expected advantage did not translate into pole position.
