Formula 1 to race on in Sao Paulo until 2030

Formula 1 has announced that it has granted Interlagos and the Sao Paulo Grand Prix a five-year contract extension that will see the venue remain on the sport’s calendar until 2030. Formula 1 first visited the Autodromo José Carlos Pace in 1973. Rio took over from Sao Paulo as Brazil’s hosting city for a period of ten years before Grand Prix racing returned to Interlagos in 1990. The event’s promoters signed their most recent five-year deal with F1 in 2020, with the city of Sao Paulo investing in the event.
