Sainz had initially looked to be on course to secure P1 on the grid, with teammate Charles Leclerc unable to match his time. However, it was Russell who caused a surprise by taking his debut pole in Formula 1, pushing Sainz down to P2. Despite this, Sainz admits that he has been feeling more comfortable with the Ferrari throughout the weekend at the Hungaroring.
