Paralyzed Wickens returns after horror crash

Robert Wickens was seriously injured in a horrific IndyCar crash in 2018, but after more than three years away, he will return to racing on 28 January 2022. Wickens' promising debut in the IndyCar came to an end early when he was involved in a horrific accident in August 2018 that nearly killed him. The crash left him paralyzed from the chest down and will likely leave him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Despite the terrible crash, Wickens immediately knew that he wanted to return someday. He is keeping his word, because this year we will see him behind the wheel again.
