Mercedes driver disagrees with controversy: 'Title not lost in Abu Dhabi'

The 2021 Formula One Championship provided viewers worldwide with a spectacular title fight. That title fight found its denouement in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen outsmarted his rival Lewis Hamilton on the final lap of the race. Mercedes reserve driver Stoffel Vandoorne gives his opinion on the controversial end of the season. For Vandoorne, who witnessed the season from the Mercedes camp, the denouement leaves something of an aftertaste. "The way the championship was decided is not right," he prefaces in an interview with rtbf.be. "It changed the outcome of the race and with it the championship, which is very difficult to swallow."
