FIA planning rule tweak after Alonso yellow flag infringement
The FIA is considering introducing a new measure for infractions during yellow flag situations. This is the view of race director Michael Masi, after the stewards were criticised for not penalising Fernando Alonso for a foul during qualifying in Turkey. Ironically, this comes just days after Alonso's statement, in which he accused the FIA and the stewards of not treating everyone the same. Under this year's regulations, drivers must abort their lap when double yellow is waved, whereas previously this was considered a situation where one had to get off the gas.
