Hamilton sets the pace in red flagged FP3

Hungarian Grand Prix – Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is one step closer to a record breaking ninth victory at the Hungaroring after setting pace in Free Practice Three. The Briton set a time of 1:16.826 which was just 0.088s faster than second placed man, and championship rival Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas set the third fastest time, some 0.229s off Hamilton’s benchmark. Bottas had the measure of both Verstappen and Hamilton in the first half of the session, but when the qualifying simulations started, the two championship contenders laid down their markers ahead of qualifying later on Saturday.
