Verstappen faster than Bottas and Hamilton on FP2 Red Bull's Max Verstappen took charge of the times in second practice for the French Grand Prix, the first time Red Bull has topped a practice session at Circuit Paul Ricard since F1's return here in 2018. Verstappen finished the day with a slender 0.008s advantage over morning pace setter Valtteri Bottas whose team mate Lewis Hamilton was third fastest ahead of Fernando Alonso at Alpine's home race, with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc fifth.
