Mercedes finally show form as Perez loses Red Bull engine cover

Valtteri Bottas finally offered a glimpse of form for Mercedes on a pre-season test day in which team-mate Lewis Hamilton beached his car in the gravel and Sergio Perez lost his engine cover. After completing just six laps and losing over three hours of running on Friday due to his W12 requiring a gearbox change, Bottas took to the Bahrain International Circuit on Saturday afternoon knowing he had ground to make up.
