Discussions between Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes regarding a new contract are reportedly progressing, but a deal is not imminent.  With just two months to go before the start of the 2021 campaign, Hamilton has yet to sign a new contract with the Mercedes team and, as it stands, is technically a free agent. Rumours recently emerged that an agreement has yet to be reached because Mercedes are reluctant to agree to Hamilton’s salary demands, while he also wants a share of the team's prize money in the future.
