Hamilton claims 93rd F1 pole with new Spa track record; both Ferraris suffer Q2 exit

Lewis Hamilton set a new track record at Spa Francorchamps en route to securing the 93rd pole position of his Formula 1 career on a day when neither Ferrari failed to reach the top 10. Hamilton was again in a class of his own as Valtteri Bottas was unable to get near his Mercedes team-mate across the three sessions, finishing a staggering half-a-second behind the six-time F1 champion. Article continues under video The Briton posted a time of one minute 41.252secs on his final run in Q3, comfortably beating the previous best at Spa of 1:41.553 set by Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel in 2018.
