Hamilton cleared, keeps front-row grid spot

Lewis Hamilton will start the Austrian Grand Prix from second spot after stewards opted to take no further action over an alleged yellow flag infringement. Stewards had summoned Hamilton after he was alleged to have ignored yellow flags that were shown when Mercedes team-mate Valtteri Bottas went off the circuit. Hamilton continued on his Q3 push lap and set his personal best time. Hamilton “mentioned that he passed a green light panel in Turn 5” during his meeting with the stewards.
