Jack Brabham took an historic Monaco Grand Prix win, the first for an Australian driver and also for the Cooper Car Company in his mid-engined T51 Climax in 1959. Tony Brooks was second a Ferrari 246 with Maurice Trintignant third in Rob Walker’s Cooper. Also in Monaco, Graham Hill won the ‘64 Grand Prix from BRM teammate Richie Ginther and survivor Peter Arundell’s Lotus, while Jochen Rindt took the 1970 win for Lotus Cosworth from Jack Brabham’s Brabham Cosworth and Henri Pescarolo in a Matra. Formula 1 moved to Spain more recently on this day, which race Mika Häkkinen won from McLaren-Mercedes MP4-13 teammate David Coulthard and Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari in ’98. Jenson...
