Szafnauer: 'Crucial' for smaller teams to have unchanged cars for 2021

Racing Point team boss Otmar Szafnauer says the amount of parts teams will be able to carry over to next season will prove "crucial" for the sport's smaller cash-strapped teams. As Formula 1 contends with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the sport's top and bottom lines, the FIA approved last week the delay of the 2021 regulations to 2022 in order to help teams save significant costs. Teams will therefore extend into next year the use of their 2020 chassis designs, but a full list of the components that will remain identical has yet to be decided.
