The 2020 Chinese Grand Prix has officially been postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Formula 1 have announced, with the virus claiming hundreds of lives while infecting tens of thousands in China. The race was set to take place in the tail-end of April, after the Vietnamese Grand Prix and before the Dutch Grand Prix, but will now be held at a later time in the year, when the virus has been contained. The World Health Organisation announced the coronavirus to be a global health emergency two weeks ago, with the Formula E event in March and all other sporting event having been cancelled as well in the foreseeable future.
