Sebastian Vettel leads ultra-close final practice at Monza

Sebastian Vettel led the way during a competitive final practice session for Formula 1’s Italian Grand Prix, with most of the field covered by a second. Vettel set a best time of 1:20.294 as drivers jostled for position, with some receiving slipstreams, and others completing their laps without a tow. Vettel’s effort left him just 0.032s clear of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who got a tow across the line from a Renault, while Valtteri Bottas was 0.109s in arrears in third. Friday pacesetter Charles Leclerc was fourth, while Daniel Ricciardo displayed encouraging pace for Renault by placing fifth, within three-tenths of ex-team-mate Vettel.
