Correa placed in induced coma after respiratory failure

F2 racer Juan Manuel Correa has suffered an acute respiratory failure and has been placed in an induced coma according to a statement from the driver's family. Following last weekend's horrendous crash in the FIA Formula 2 feature race at Spa which claimed the life of 22-year-old Anthoine Hubert, Correa was air-lifted to Liège where he was diagnosed with severe leg and feet injuries and minor spinal damage. The American-Ecuadorian driver was transferred from intensive care to a specialized unit in London earlier this week, but unfortunately developed a case of 'Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome' which has complicated the 20-year-old's recovery process.
