Fernando Alonso gears up for Dakar with expanded Toyota test programme

Fernando Alonso and Toyota Gazoo Racing have confirmed they will expand their 'intensive training programme' for the Dakar Rally. Although Alonso has yet to confirm his Dakar plans, it's expected he and Toyota will link-up for an entry for the 2020 running of the famous off-road endurance event, which will for the first time ever be run in Saudi Arabia. The expanded test programme will see the two-time Formula 1 World Champion and Le Mans winner testing a Toyota Hilux across Europe, Africa and the Middle East to continue familiarising himself with the challenges he's likely to face in the Dakar Rally.
