Barcelona still in the running for a slot on 2020 calendar

Barcelona could be granted by Formula 1 a one-year extension to its contract to host the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuit de Catalunya, saving the race's presence on the calendar for 2020. The Spanish round of the F1 world championship is believed to be in jeopardy along with Germany and Mexico, with just one of the three races expected to secure its spot on the sport's 21-race schedule next season.
