Ferrari turned the tables on Mercedes as Charles Leclerc led a 1-2 for the team during second practice in Canada, while Lewis Hamilton truncated his session after hitting the wall. Mercedes dominated the opening practice session, with Hamilton ahead of team-mate Valtteri Bottas, but come the afternoon Ferrari led the way. Leclerc posted the pace-setting time of 1:12.177 to edge team-mate Sebastian Vettel by 0.074s, while Bottas was 0.134s behind the Monegasque driver.
