Sergio Perez has admitted that he is looking for some help from the weather if he is to score points in Monaco for the first time since his podium in the principality in 2016. The Mexican was knocked out in Q1 and will start 16th thanks to Antonio Giovinazzi’s three-place grid drop. Monaco’s narrow streets offer little scope for overtaking, so Perez is hoping for some intervention from the skies to help him to the top ten. After qualifying, Perez revealed: "Hopefully the rain can help us and we can score some points. I think otherwise tomorrow, it's going to be a great pain.
