Kvyat: Friday running no longer necessary for F1 teams

Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat says the amount of track knowledge held by F1 teams now makes running on Friday's practically dispensable. The case for reducing the Grand Prix weekend format by concentrating the action over two days instead of three is gaining momentum among the teams, especially in light of a potential expansion of the F1 calendar. But regardless if Liberty Media increases the number of races in the future, Kvyat argues that Friday practice sessions are already non-essential in his view.
