Lewis Hamilton wins Bahrain thriller as reliability robs Charles Leclerc

Lewis Hamilton led a Mercedes 1-2 in a thrilling 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix which turned out to be disastrous for Ferrari as it could only muster third and fifth positions. Polesitter Charles Leclerc dominated the race and looked set to win, only for his MGU-H to fail with 15 laps of the race remaining, which slowed him sufficiently to allow both Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas to get past. It could have been worse for Leclerc, but for a late Safety Car caused by a double Renault retirement, holding back a charging Max Verstappen. Full report to follow...
