Masi takes up Whiting's role again in Bahrain

After the tragic passing of F1 race director Charlie Whiting ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, Michael Masi stepped in and did an admirable job in the circumstances, and it has been confirmed that he will once again replace Whiting. Whiting sadly died suddenly on the eve of the opening day of the F1 season and Brazil’s Globo reports: “The FIA does not yet have a long-term plan to fill the position Whiting held at the time of his death.” Masi was set to be the Formula 2 race director in 2019, so seems to be the obvious choice to replace the legendary Whiting.
