It's official: Point for fastest lap returns to F1!
From this weekend's Australian Grand Prix, one championship point will be awarded to the driver who achieves the fastest lap of the race, provided that driver finishes among the top 10. The FIA World Motor Sport Council approved the provisional new sporting rule at its meeting in Geneva last week. The F1 Strategy Group and F1 Commission validated the rule which was subject to their successful e-vote on Monday.
