FIA underlines push for standard parts in F1 from 2021

The FIA has underlined the push for standard parts in a Formula 1 car from 2021 onwards after the World Motor Sport Council approved the issuing of further invitations to tender. The FIA, in February, auctioned the supply of a standard gearbox cassette to be used by teams from 2021-24 to interested parties. Thursday's World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) meeting gave the approval for further initiatives, but no details have been revealed regarding which areas of the car or power unit may be affected.
