A salute on this day to big Dan

©TheCahierArchive Dan Gurney passed away on this day two years ago, and here at F1i we'll never miss an opportunity to salute the memory of the great American driver. This great shot taken by Bernard Cahier at Brands Hatch in 1968 offers a proper reflection of Gurney's popular image: the steely determination, as embodied by his intense look as he rounds Paddock Bend, and the elegance of the Eagle. Dan Gurney, champion and trail blazer extraordinaire.
