Sainz warns McLaren against getting ‘overexcited’ with aims

Carlos Sainz Jr. has warned McLaren against getting “overexcited” with its aims for the short-term future, believing the team will have to work “little by little” to return to the front of the Formula 1 field. Sainz left Renault to join McLaren for 2019 at a time when the team is looking to aim a podium drought lasting almost five years, while its most recent victory came at the end of 2012.
