Rotenberg: We were unpleasantly surprised by Williams

SMP Racing chief Boris Rotenberg has hit out at Williams after Sergey Sirotkin was ditched by the Grove outfit in favour of Rober Kubica and George Russell leaving the Russian without a drive for next season. Sirotkin is backed by SMP Racing spent a trying rookie season in the top flight with a woefully uncompetitive car, described as 'evil' by team chief Claire Williams. The team underdelivered on the investment by the Russian racing organisation, Rotenborg said in a statement, 'We have decided not to continue our involvement in Formula 1.'
