Ferrari takes aggressive stance with Suzuka tyres

Ferrari has made an aggressive choice with its tyre compounds for next weekend’s Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix. Sole supplier Pirelli has nominated the Supersoft (red), Soft (yellow) and Medium (white) tyre compounds in order to cope with the demands of the figure-of-eight Suzuka track. Each driver is permitted 13 sets of tyres for each weekend, from which they are permitted free choice of the three nominated compounds for 10 of the sets. Ferrari duo Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will have 10 sets of Supersoft tyres available, two Softs and just one Medium.
