Drivers Give Mixed Reactions Over The Idea Of Fielding Three-Car Teams

The idea of introducing three cars teams to the grid in Formula 1 has created a mixed reaction to the drivers ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix. Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport team boss Toto Wolff proposed the idea of having three car teams in the sport, as a cheaper way of creating a ‘feeder team' within the sport. Wolff spoke regarding of finding a seat for fellow Mercedes junior drivers Esteban Ocon and George Russell, who could be left with no seat in F1 for 2019. A few team principals within the F1 paddock reacted to the idea of three cars within one team, with Aston Martin Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner saying the idea is interesting but impractical.
