Mick Schumacher took victory in the first F3 race of round eight at the Nurburgring. Schumacher took the lead of the race with a decisive move into turn one on teammate Robert Shwartzman, down the inside of the Russian driver. Schumacher didn't have it all his own way, a safety car closed the relatively small gap he had over Shwartzman but the German didn't buckle under the pressure. A race-long battle with his Prema teammate ebbed and flowed with the leader's gap down to under a second towards the end of the race.
