Miami GP takes new twist as county mayor gets involved

Miami-Dade's mayor has intervened and cacelled a delegation's fact-finding trip to the Singapore Grand Prix. The Miami Herald said at the weekend that the delegation of county administrators, which includes Police and Fire Department chiefs, would fly to Singapore in an attempt to gain a clear understanding of how a Grand Prix works, behind the scenes. The trip would have cost $18,000, but earlier this week, the mayor Carlos Giminez intervened and cancelled the trip for the workers.
