Horner: "Never any offer" from Red Bull for Alonso
Following the conclusion of FP1, Christian Horner was asked by Sky Sports about the situation with Alonso. The Spaniard said that Red Bull had offered him a drive twice during this season, once in Monaco and again in August following Daniel Ricciardo's exit. "Maybe Franz has made him an offer, but there was no offer from Red Bull Racing. Alonso is one of the best Grand Prix drivers out there, but he just doesn't fit the profile of our team," Horner told Sky Sports. "It'll be sad to see him leave Formula One, but there was certainly never an offer on the table from Red Bull Racing.
