Red Bull split considered a ‘natural evolution' by Renault

French Grand Prix – Renault have issued a statement, explaining how they felt the time was right for the split with Red Bull. Renault have supplied Red Bull Racing with engines since the start of the 2007 season, leading to tremendous success between 2009 and the end of the V8 era in 2013. However, with Renault struggling to match the power and reliability of Mercedes & Ferrari since the start of the Hybrid era in 2014, the relationship between the two parties became strained.
