Rivals teams blocked Force India cash advances

It's well documented that in the old days, Bernie Ecclestone regularly dipped into his sizeable wallet in order to find the cash to tide teams over through difficult periods. Under the sport's new ownership however, where everything has to go through the books and transparency is the name of the game, this is no longer possible. Speaking to Reuters, Force India's chief operating office, Otmar Szafnauer not only denies that, contrary to media reports, Liberty Media did not dig into its own pockets to aid the team, but rival outfits blocked any hope of cash advances at what is traditionally a tough period for the smaller outfits.
