Mercedes drop fight to keep MGU-H for 2021 regulations

Mercedes have relented in their fight to keep the MGU-H a part of the power unit for the 2021 regulations. The Silver Arrows was the only team to really master the design of the component which helped them achieve four consecutive world championships with the introduction of the hybrid power units in 2014. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff revealed that the outfit had given up in their fight to keep the part. “We have given up on some of the stand points, we have accepted to lose the MGU-H,” he said. “We think the (replacement) technology is a step backwards but in terms of achieving compromise for the benefit of the spectacle, the revs going up, the fuel limitations going, I...
