Ecclestone blasts F1's decision to axe grid girls

Former Formula 1 chief executive Bernie Ecclestone has blasted the sport's decision to drop the use of grid girls in 2018. “These girls were part of the show. Fans love the glamour," the 87-year-old told The Sun newspaper. "These girls were part of the show, part of the spectacle. "You should be allowed to have grid girls," he insisted. "The drivers like them, the audience like them and no one cares. “I can’t see how a good-looking girl standing with a driver and a number in front of a Formula 1 car can be offensive to anybody.
